there is plenty that you could do.

Old indian Trail

The Old Indian Trail just across the road from Labrys leads to a dune bluff overlooking Lake Michigan

Activities abound in this natural wonderland, no matter what season you plan on visiting. Some find that an afternoon of hiking amidst the breathtaking colors and whispering leaves is just the thing. For others, a leisurely paddle in a kayak or just sitting in the long shadows of the sun with a good book can provide the sense of relaxation that many crave. For adventurers, there are opportunities for wine tasting at area vineyards and perusing local art galleries. Local shops also provide hours of browsing for treasure hunters and antique fanciers.

Labrys is located in Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and is only 40 minutes from the heart of Traverse City. The National Lakeshore offers great hiking and skiing trails which bring you to breathtaking spots along the Lake Michigan shoreline. Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive is a seven-mile, one way loop motorcar road that provides access to the high dune plateau, affording spectacular views of the Manitou Islands, the Sleeping Bear Dunes, and the Lake Michigan shoreline. The park’s visitor center is less than 15 minutes away in Empire via M-22. M-22 is part of Michigan’s Circle Tour and a beautiful drive in any season.
